Gears of War didn’t claim every scrap of attention in the third-person shooter realm thus far this generation, though Lost Planet: Extreme Condition isn’t shaking its throne. It doesn’t look quite as good, nor does it come close in multiplayer fun, but Lost Planet is consistent in its pacing (a bit melodramatic and patchy on the story, though), has solid control and lets you use mechs. The mix-and-match gameplay and fast pacing encourage continuous play, making you want to beat the game in the first week you own it. That in itself says that Capcom did their job, with the single player campaign at least. It’s fun, it’s addictive for the first run through, and it’s satisfying upon completion. You should probably play this game as soon as you can. |
