Racing games on the Xbox 360 seem to be a popular genre, with few but great games. Project Gotham, Need for Speed, and Burnout are all great examples of this. For the first time, though, a motorcycle racing game, MotoGP 06, has made its way onto the box. Does it match up against the others, or one of the few that fall short?
MotoGP is a very recognizable game series. It has been around for about six years and has spanned several different platforms. All in all, it is a great racing series, but is nothing legendary such as Gran Turismo or Project Gotham. MotoGP is all about realism and does its best to represent the actual sport of motorcycle racing.

Amazing detail
MotoGP 06 follows in the footsteps of the series and doesn’t make any drastic changes to the game. However, there are many different gameplay modes, customization, upgradeable bikes, online play, improved graphics, and more. This is a completely new addition to the series that is worth purchasing, even if you have played through previous installments.

Mean and green!
Unless you are a huge multiplayer fan, you will spend most of your time with the in-depth career portion of MotoGP 06. The career mode will take you through four different championships that include tons of races on 17 different tracks. The career mode consists of one Grand Prix and three Extreme championships. The Grand Prix is where you play in a professional race season, which is most like the actual sport. The Extreme championships are street races where you earn money based on your placement at the end of the race. Also in the career mode are challenges, which give you a break from the normal racing. Challenges are usually very short and require you to do a simple, but not easy, task such as passing a certain point at a particular speed, or keeping up with another racer.
