There are tons of games coming out that give gamers the opportunity to unleash a barrage of gunfire onto enemies...the list is long. There’s also tons of games that gives players the opportunity to crash cars, melee attack, and blow stuff up. But how many games let you do all of that stuff, plus upgrade your character, leap from roof tops like the Daredevil, destroy anything in your path like the Hulk, scale buildings like Spider-man, utilize an arsenal equivalent to the Punisher, and experience driving mayhem like Mad Max? There's only one, its called Crackdown.
Who needs Superheroes when you have Super-agents?
Recently, Microsoft released some new information on the game that showcases a bit more depth in the playable characters area of the game. There are a total of eight agents at the player’s disposal, each character is designed with an original and distinctive look. There’s the African American agent, the Asian agent, the Maori agent, the Norse agent, the Russian agent, the Spanish agent, the Goth agent, and the Thai agent.

There's tough looking cops to play in this game
As players level up each agent, the characters will morph and change accordingly; they’ll go from the standard Crackdown agent to an amped-up Crackdown Super-agent. But not all the characters will bulk up like some of the lethal enforcers; a few of the characters will age, refine, or get a little crazy looking, which is all dependent on their original characteristics. For instance, the Asian agent will go from a young cop, and at level 5 he’ll turn into an old man with long white hair and the classic kung-fu beard. The Maori agent also goes through a massive transformation, going from a standard ponytail enforcer, to a full-out face-painted warrior. Out of them all, the Russian and Thai agents look the most daunting in their final transformations.
Cops who exercise a little lethal force
With each level, players will also have a multitude of melee attacks that increase in strength and allow players to hurl enemies nearly an entire block, or lift just about any vehicle into the air. Interacting with the environment, though, affords players a wide range of objects to destroy criminal forces; from trashcans and dumpsters, to barrels, lumber and even explosives...almost nothing is off limits. What’s also cool is that players can take any object with them and leap across town with said item.

Players can lift just about anything in Crackdown
In one scene, the main character jumped off the top of a skyscraper with a load of pipes and hurled them at some vehicles down below, only to crush the vehicles and bury some of the crooks under the pipe’s weight. It’s also important to note that the game is using some very advanced physics, granting players with all sorts of interactivity when driving, throwing things, and blowing the living daylights out of just about everything in sight.
